About the event

Join us for our second fireside chat about nuclear energy with two special international guests. Nuclear energy is a hot topic right now in Australia, and with all the political spin, it’s hard to separate fact from fiction. We're going to dive into the key facts about nuclear energy and explore why countries around the world are either embracing it or stepping away from it during this pivotal global clean energy transition. So get ready to cut through the noise and uncover the truth because the future of energy matters! Special Guests.

Paris-Ortiz-Wines is the global director of the grassroots organisation Stand Up for Nuclear. Paris has been a passionate advocate for nuclear and has helped energise and mobilise people across the world to fight for one of the largest sources of clean energy. Paris was also part of the group that helped save Diablo Canyon, California's last nuclear plant that was set to be closed and replaced with fossil fuels. Heather Hoff is the co-founder of the grassroots organisation Mothers for Nuclear which has been incredibly effective at communicating with women and audiences that traditionally haven't been engaged on the topic of nuclear energy. Heather also works at Diablo Canyon nuclear power station and was part of the group which fought to save the plant.
